Storytime

Storytimes help parents foster a lifelong love of books and reading in their children.  Each Storytime is not only fun for the children, but also informative and engaging for the parents who attend with them.  Different Storytimes focus on different age groups, but every Storytime helps children and parents bond by participating in healthy, enriching activities together.  Which story time is right for you?

Family Storytime
(All ages)

Family Storytime is appropriate for your whole family, with books, songs, rhymes, movement activities, and more!  This Storytime helps reinforce a lifelong love of learning in children as well as offers parents, caregivers, and children reading techniques and new ideas about how to fully engage with reading.

family at Bouncing baby storytime

Bouncing Babies (Birth-18 months)

Bouncing Babies Storytime focuses on developing your baby’s pre-literacy skills.  This lap sit Storytime will introduce a love for books by using song, movement, rhythm, and rhyme.  The program will help improve motor, sensory, and social skills during parachute play and play time.  The program runs for 30-45 minutes.

Toddler

Toddler Time (18 months-3 years)

Toddler Time taps into the boundless energy of a two year old to get your child involved in this interactive Storytime.  This Storytime program will engage your children with short stories, finger plays, action rhymes, and songs.  Your toddler will be learning sounds, letter recognition, and new words that will help them grow into pre-readers all while having fun.  Toddler Time is a 20 to 30 minute program.

Parents Reading With Their Children

Wee Read (3-4 years)

Wee Read Storytimes focus on your interaction with your child.  This hour long Storytime program uses a wide variety of activities designed to help preschoolers with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills all while being fun and engaging.  These Storytimes also provide parents with information, handmade toys, and effective tools to entertain, interact, comfort, and observe their child.  The Wee Read Storytime is designed for 3-4 year olds, but younger children are welcome as well. This is an hour long program.

Preschoolers at Storytime

Preschool Storytime (3-5 years)

Your pre-readers will improve literacy skills that they need for their upcoming kindergarten year.  This Storytime features longer books which are accompanied by a variety of activities, including puppetry, dramatics, simple crafts, and flannel boards.  This is a 30 minute program.
