Each Arlington Public Library location offers a variety of Story Times and other programs.   Programs presented are Bouncing Babies, Toddler Time, Listener Story Time, and Family Story Time. Click here for a description of the different storytime programs. All programs are free and open to the public.

Children and parents may begin attending at any library location. Day cares and other groups are welcome, but please call first.

Children’s Storytime Schedule:
Spring 2008 session: January 2 – April 30
Summer 2008 session: June 9 – August 9
Fall-Winter 2008 session: September 2 - November 28
No regularly scheduled storytimes in  
May, late August, and December.

Description of Storytime programs

Bouncing Babies
Bouncing babies is a program for children ages birth to two years old.  The library staff will do stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs with your baby. It does vary by story time. It is a lapsit program in which you will interact with your baby.  The stories used are shorter in text and have large colorful pictures

Family Storytime
Family story time is a program geared for children and family.  The library staff will do stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs. Every week is theme oriented. The library staff could have a craft with the children.  The library will provide the supplies as necessary.  Come and have fun!

Listener Storytime
Listener story time is a program geared for children three to seven years old.  The library staff will do stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs with your child.  It does vary by story time.  The story time lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Toddler Time
Toddler story time is a program geared for children two to three years old.  The library staff will do stories, rhymes, finger plays and songs with your child.  It does vary by story time.  The stories used are shorter in text and have large colorful pictures. The story time lasts approximately 20 minutes.
