Library Elf Alert Service

Never forget to return your library materials again with Library ELF!

Library ELF is an independent service that lets you customize library reminders.

UPDATE: Library Elf has evolved into a two-tiered service, one free with only basic features and a paid version with a broader array of options.  The basic service now only sends e-mail for pre-due and overdue books.  The basic service no longer reports holds.  You can find a comparison of basic and premium services HERE

With Library ELF, you can:

  • Receive free due date reminders when you want them; for example, you could get a notice a week before an item is due, then every day again until it's due.
  • View due dates in a convenient calendar format. (premium)
  • Get notices as cell phone text messages (premium) or via e-mail (basic).
  • Consolidate information for all of the library cards in your family (basic service only supports one card per Library Elf account).

To sign up, go to the Library ELF signup page for the Arlington Public Library and follow the instructions. Enter your name, e-mail address, library card number, etc. as specified.  The PIN number they request is the same as your library password and not necessarily a number.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Library ELF is not affiliated with the Arlington Public Library. Use of this service does not excuse participants from library fines if materials are returned late. Cardholders use ELF at their own option and risk. Users of Library ELF must submit personal information, including library card number to an independent company. Please read Library ELF's privacy policy and FAQs before deciding to sign up for the service.

If the service stops working, you may need to visit the Library Elf site and re-enter your library card number and pin number/password, especially if you have made recent changes to your library account.
