Public Computer Workstations
Each branch is host to several public computer work stations. Some workstations are equipped with internet access; others offer access to various research databases or to a number of software applications such as Microsoft Office, Encarta, and Streets & Maps. Workstations in the Children's departments offer interactive books and educational software.
Wireless Access
The Arlington Public Library System now has free wireless Internet access at all locations! You can bring your wireless-ready laptops or other portable devices with you and connect to the Internet anywhere in the library with no waiting. Simply sit down, start up, and get on to the World Wide Web.

Training Center
The Training Center in the Central Library offers free training courses on a variety of topics.

Children's Learning Centers
The George W. Hawkes Central Library, East Arlington Branch, Northeast Branch and Southeast Branch contain fully equipped children's learning centers with computer workstations and printers designed to assist elementary and junior high students with their schoolwork. Programs to aid students in their mastery of reading, writing, math and science, as well as word processing software are available.
TexShare Databases
The Library offers patrons access to numerous Electronic Databases, (including the TexShare Databases, a collection of over 60 databases covering many subjects) to assist library patrons with general research, medical and legal information, as well as homework assistance and genealogical research. Some databases include full-text periodical, journal or newspaper articles; others include citations to appropriate sources.
