A List of Resources Available through the Arlington Public Library System

ASL Videos and Closed Captioned Videos
A collection of videos for the hearing impaired is located on the first floor at the Central Library.  ASL videos are signed in American Sign Language.

Descriptive Videos
A collection of videos for the visually impaired is integrated into the video collection.  Search "Video recordings for the visually handicapped" under subject in the catalog.

Large Print Books
A collection of both fiction and non-fiction books is available at all locations.

CCTV
A closed circuit television is located on the first floor of the Central Library.  This device allows material to be greatly magnified onto a large television monitor.

Recorded Books
A collection of fiction and nonfiction titles are available on both cassette tape and CD.  Located on the first floor at the Central Library, and at all branches.

Magnifiers
Most library locations have handheld magnifiers and Dazor magnifying lamps available.

Trackball
Most library locations have a trackball mouse at one of their Internet computers.

Books and Magazines
A wide variety of materials concerning disabilities is available in the library's collection.

ADA-Accessible Online Catalog Computers
Two wheelchair accessible online catalog computers are located on the first floor.

Talking Book Program
The Texas State Library (located in Austin) provides books and magazines on tape and in Braille for those who are visually impaired.  These materials are delivered and returned through the mail at no expense to those who qualify.

A Dallas-based organization that produces and distributes high-quality recordings of a variety of written materials to individuals and groups for low or no cost.
