The game sheet is available at any Arlington Public Library location,
including the webpage. Answer the questions and turn it in by February 23.
Answer all questions correctly and win a prize (one per family). Winners
will be notified by e-mail or phone and can pick up their prizes at the Jim
Gatewood event February 28 or at their library March 1. Correct answers will
be posted on the webpage February 25.

February 4, 6:30 to 8 p.m., LAKE ARLINGTON BRANCH: CSI for Teens, Students are invited to learn about forensic science and investigate the truth behind Crime Scene Investigation. Lori Lane of Forensic Educators will provide a mini CSI boot camp. Please contact any location to register for this program. Audience: grades 7 to 12.
February 7, 7 p.m., CENTRAL LIBRARY: Ron Singer, Crime Lab Director for the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will discuss the differences between CSI reality and TV.
February 8, 6 to 8:30 p.m., CENTRAL LIBRARY: The Disappearance of Angela Day – Put the clues together to help solve a mystery at our after-hours, interactive Murder Mystery night. Please contact any location to register for this program. Audience: ages 12 to 18.
February 9, 2 to 5 p.m., CENTRAL LIBRARY: Clue Tournament – The tournament will begin with six tables of six players each. The winners of the first round will advance to the championship game. The winner of the championship round will be awarded the grand prize package which consists of a Library Edition Clue game set and a murder mystery dinner cruise for two on the Granbury Riverboat. Please contact any location to register for this program; costumes are optional. Audience: families, ages 12 and up.
February 9, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., LAKE ARLINGTON BRANCH LIBRARY; Saturday Family Movie– Come see the funny, musical adventure of a frog reporter and his friends as they travel to England to track down a jewel thief. Snacks will be provided.
February 11, 6 p.m., SOUTHEAST BRANCH LIBRARY: Tween Book Club – Sixteen people are brought together to solve the mystery of what happened to the millionaire Samuel W. Westing. The one who wins the game could become a millionaire, but first they have to find the answers to the clues left to them in his will. Join us as we discuss The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin. Audience: children ages 9 to 12.
February 11, 6:30 p.m., SOUTHWEST BRANCH LIBRARY: Mystery Scavenger Hunt for Teens – Put your sleuthing skills to use at the Library’s Mystery Scavenger Hunt. Find out who-dun-it! Can you find out in time to win the prize? Call 817-459-6386 for more details and to register. Audience: teens.
February 12, 7 p.m., LAKE ARLINGTON BRANCH LIBRARY: Pajama Time – Be a detective for the evening as we search out clues from mystery stories. Everyone is encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite bedtime buddy. We will also be creating sleuth hats for all our young detectives. Audience: children preschool through grade 2.
February 12, 6:30 p.m., CITY COUNCIL BRIEFING ROOM, City Hall, 3rd Floor, 101 W Abram St: The Case of the Missing Face, or How to Return Identity to the Unidentified – Suzanne Baldon, UTA forensic art and anthropologist, reconstructs facial features from human remains. She will discuss several of her cases, solved and unsolved, and describe the techniques she uses to reconstruct facial appearance. These techniques can be applied for accident and criminal investigations, as well as for historical and archaeological research.
February 13, 6 to 7:30 p.m., CENTRAL LIBRARY: Rosemary Clement-Moore – This author of young adult books starring Maggie Quinn, Psychic Girl Detective, will discuss how you can use acting techniques to enrich your prose. Audience: 12 and up.

February 25, 6 to 8 p.m., LAKE ARLINGTON BRANCH LIBRARY: Whodunnit?! Mystery Game - There’s been a murder at Tabula mansion! Can the guests determine who the killer is before he or she take another life?! Join us for a card game unlike any you’ve ever played before. Audience: ages 12 to 18.
February 25, 4:30 p.m., SOUTHEAST BRANCH: CSI: the Experience –Fort Worth Museum of Science and History staff will provide a hands-on experience for program participants. Please contact any location to register for this program. Audience: grades 5 to 8.
February 27, 6:30 p.m., SOUTHEAST BRANCH: The Criminal Mind – UTA professor Alex del Carmen will discuss theories of deviance from biological, social, and economic perspectives.
February 28, 6:30 p.m., CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER, 101 W Abram St: Jim Gatewood, author and historian, will discuss the Top O’Hill Terrace that was on the property now occupied by Arlington Baptist College (at 3001 W Division St). It was the most opulent casino for the rich, adventurous, mischievous, and famous in the U. S. before Las Vegas. The casino was designed to protect guests from the prying eyes of law enforcement. Audience: adults.
February 29, 7 p.m., CENTRAL LIBRARY: Author panel, book sale and signing – Mark Gimenez, L. A. Stark, and Bill Manchee will discuss their books and the art of writing a mystery.
March 6, 4:30 p.m., SOUTHWEST BRANCH: June Weltman – This Children’s and Young Adult mystery author will discuss mysteries and her background and will read from her book, Mystery of the Missing Candlestick.
