Go-Card, the new library card just for kids
A library
card can take you anywhere – it has no limits! That’s why we’re calling
Arlington Public Library’s new library card for kids the Go-Card.
A special thank you to every child that submitted their art work to help
us make their new library card extra special. Watch for the
winning artwork on the face of new Go-Cards in September, during Library
Card Sign Up Month. The Library will be launching a city-wide
campaign to get every student in grades pre-K through sixth their own
library card. Watch for information from your child's school so
you can get them their very own Go-Card.
This Go-Card campaign is generously sponsored by Atmos Energy.
Look who’s reading. It’s Brickman, the
bomb-sniffing dog. Along with Deputy Fire Marshal Darin L.
Niederhaus, Brickman is on the first of 12 “Read a Mystery”
posters to be displayed throughout the year.
As part of the program, “Read a Mystery” posters will be
displayed at all public libraries, recreation centers and AISD
schools. Posters are changed
out each month and spotlight 12 local celebrities and their
favorite mystery books. The posters are sponsored by the
City of Arlington, the Arlington Public Library System and the
Friends of the Arlington Public Library.
Watch for a new poster each month in 2008!
