How to Reserve Items Online

To increase the availability of materials, and to minimize the number of unclaimed holds that were otherwise unavailable for check-out, there will be a .25 charge for each item not picked-up at the end of the 4 day hold period.  You may cancel your hold at any time during that period by contacting the library either by phone at 817-459-6900 or emailing the library through the email link listed on the Contact web-page link.

If you need to suspend your hold request de-activating it before it is processed due to illness, vacation plans or other reasons, you may do so using the contact information provided above.  Your request will remove you from the queue; you may then re-activate your request at a later date.  This will put you back in the same spot in the queue where you were at the time of your request to suspend your hold.

Search the catalog or browse the APL website to find books, dvds, and other physical items. If you need the item immediately, call the library to have them do a "shelf check." Do not reserve online. Downloadable eBooks and audiobooks cannot be reserved through the catalog.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Search the catalog to find the item.
  3. Click on the Place a Request link.
  4. Select the location where you will pick up the item. Click Submit Request.
You will be notified by your preferred method (phone, email, text) when your item is available. Requested items will be held for 4 days.
