Lizzy King!

The Arlington Alliance for Youth has named Elizabeth King, president of the George W. Hawkes Central Teen Library Council, to receive the first annual Sheris Growe Youth Service Leader of the Year Award. Lizzy was nominated for the award because of her leadership in developing a core group of participants for the Central Library's Teen Library Council and for helping library staff in organizing various events for teens and young adults, including a monthly movie night and a video gaming tournament.

In addition to her volunteer work at the library, Ms. King donates her time to the Humane Society Animal Shelter, plays in a garage band, Recollection, and is an accomplished author and poet.
