Arlington Water Utilities and the Arlington Public Library are hosting a series of classes this spring to help children and their families celebrate the value of water in their lives. The Wonderful Water series starts Jan. 19, when the Fort Worth Science and History Museum presents Wonders of Water at the George Hawkes Downtown. The free events will continue through April 24. Each attendee will leave with take home information about water efficiency and conservation.

The Wonderful Water! events are as follow:

  • Wonders of Water – 2-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    A hands on opportunity to explore the properties of water through different stations with he Fort Worth Museum of Science and History! Recommended for ages 5-8.
  • Mr. Willy Storytelling – 2-3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    Join us for a performance of songs about water conservation, bath time and sailing! Recommended for ages 5-8.
  • The Incredible Bubble Show – 2-3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St., and Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Southeast Branch Library, 900 SE Green Oaks Blvd.
    Come explore the magic of using water for bubble making. This visual show will focus on physics, art and thinking “outside the bubble”! Recommended for ages 0-17.
  • Wonders of Water & Plants (Registration required) – 2-3 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    High Tough High Tech will be presenting a hands-on activity teaching the life cycle of a plant; what plants need to grow and where our food really comes from. Recommended for ages 5-8. To register, visit https://arlingtonlibrary.evanced.info/signup.
  • Rockin’ Bubbles – 2-3 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    This show will provide children with an interactive experience featuring puppets, magic tricks and bubbles! Explore the importance of water and leave inspired by the magic of bubbles!
  • Animal Adventure Program – 2-2:45 p.m., Saturday, April 20, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    This exciting program will feature aquatic animals and is open to the first 60 participants! Recommended for ages 0-17.
  • Infused Water: A Healthier Alternative – 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S Center St.
    Learn about the benefits of water infusion and different recipes. Recommended for ages 13+.
