Sleeping masks are perfect to block out light and to create a feeling of Zen and relaxation while you sleep. You can add your personal touch to this mask by choosing a fun fabric or even by ironing on some vinyl.

Materials

  • A sewing machine (You can also do this by hand)
  • Scissors
  • Fabric of choice
  • Any padding to go in your mask, such as Felt
  • Thread
  • Pins to hold your fabric in place
  • A mask pattern of your choice. There are many free ones on Google and Pinterest.

Instructions

  1. Start by securing your pattern on your fabric and padding material with pins. Then cut around the pattern.
  2. Place one piece of fabric with the right side up on top of your padding material.

  3. Pin your elastic across the fabric. And sew it close to the edge. This part does not have to be perfect.

  4. Next, place your other piece of fabric on top with the wrong side up. Pin it in place and sew around the mask leaving a gap at the top of the mask that is about 3 inches long. Try to sew around with a ¼’’ seam. It's okay if it is not perfect.

  5. Carefully turn your mask inside out using the gap you left. Looking good, we’re almost finished!
  6. Finally, sew around the mask to close the gap you left using a ¼’’ seam. This part is optional; you can also close this gap by using fabric glue! And Voila! Now you can make yourself a cup of tea and have a nice nap!
