Introduce a love of books, technology and learning to your community with a Library outreach visit! The Arlington Public Library provides many options for visits and field trips.

Library staff can come to your event, bringing a storytime performance, books to check out, interactive activities and more.

Or bring your group for a tour of the new Downtown Library. This brand new, state of the art location is over 80,000 square feet of communal public space replete with books, new technology, play spaces for young ones and more! We have a new Makerspace, digital arts lab, local history/ genealogy room, children’s area and playroom and a dedicated teen space. The field trips will be offered at no cost, so your school is only responsible for transportation to the library. We have intentionally and creatively developed focused themes for these trips. We are offering field trips for grades PreK- 12 with grade appropriate content for each group.

We have specifically developed storytime-themed trips for grades PreK-2nd, presented by children’s librarians specializing in storytelling, Texas themes, STEAM, etc. For grades 3rd -12th  we have STEAM-focused trips with different themes; robotics, 3d printing/ Makerspace technologies, local and Texas history, genealogical research, research using library and school-provided databases, etc. Of course, during every trip we will go over library resources that will help students succeed and how these resources can be used at home and in the library.
